DMK District Secretary N. Karthik Hoists National Flag at Purani Colony's Independence Day Celebration

On August 15, 2024, N. Karthik, DMK Coimbatore Urban District Secretary, hoisted the national flag at the 78th Independence Day celebration organized by Masjid Ul Qutbi Purani-Dawoodi Bohra Jamaat Association in Purani Colony.


Coimbatore: The 78th Independence Day was celebrated with patriotic fervor at Purani Colony in Coimbatore on Thursday, August 15, 2024. The event, organized by the Masjid Ul Qutbi Purani-Dawoodi Bohra Jamaat Association, saw the participation of prominent political figures and community leaders.

N. Karthik, the Coimbatore Urban District Secretary of DMK and former MLA, was the chief guest at the function. He hoisted the national flag at 7:30 AM, marking the commencement of the celebrations. In his special address, Karthik extended Independence Day greetings to all attendees and emphasized the importance of unity and national progress.



The event was presided over by Sheikh Moyis Kattawala, President of the Coimbatore Purani Dawoodi Bohra Association, along with Ali Asgar, PR Secretary, and PGI Captain Hussepa. Their presence underscored the community's commitment to celebrating national events with enthusiasm.

Several notable personalities attended the function, including Ward 27 Councillor Ambika Danapal, DMK Urban District Youth Wing Organizer R. Danapal, and Ward 27 Deputy Secretary A. Senthilkumar. Representatives from various DMK wings, including women's wing deputy organizer Lokeswari, senior party members like Krishnamoorthy, Kanguvaar Seenu, LMW Seenu, Purushothaman, Akbar Ali, Nadesan, and Desingu Rajan, were also present.



The celebration saw active participation from women's wing members such as Thilagavathi, Anbarasi, Vijayakumari, and Vijaya. The event also witnessed a significant turnout from the Dawoodi Bohra Muslim community, highlighting the inclusive nature of the Independence Day celebrations in Coimbatore.



The gathering of diverse political representatives and community members at this event showcased the spirit of unity and patriotism that continues to thrive in Coimbatore, even as the nation celebrates its 78th year of independence.
