Coimbatore: Doctors at KG Hospital in Coimbatore staged a protest on Wednesday, condemning the brutal murder of a female doctor in Kolkata. The demonstration was part of nationwide protests by medical professionals against the increasing violence towards doctors.

The incident in Kolkata, where a senior female trainee doctor was sexually assaulted and murdered, has sent shockwaves across the country. Medical associations across India have been organizing protests in response to this tragic event.

At KG Hospital, more than 20 doctors participated in the demonstration, raising slogans and demanding justice for their fallen colleague. Dr. Bakthavatchalam, Chairman of KG Hospital, addressed the gathering and expressed his strong condemnation of the incident.

"Doctors being murdered indicates that our nation is in the hands of fools," Dr. Bakthavatchalam stated. He emphasized the need for better protection for medical professionals, urging both the police department and government administration to take necessary measures to ensure the safety of doctors.

Dr. Bakthavatchalam also called for stricter action against substance abuse. He requested authorities to take steps to eradicate cannabis and reduce alcohol consumption, suggesting that these factors contribute to the violence against medical professionals.
