A young man from Ondipudur drowned in Valankulam Lake, Coimbatore, while attempting to escape police questioning. Two friends were detained for further investigation.

Coimbatore: A tragic incident unfolded in Coimbatore as a youth lost his life while trying to evade police interrogation. The deceased, identified as Vishwa from Ondipudur, drowned in Valankulam Lake after attempting to flee from the police.

The incident occurred when Vishwa and two of his friends were walking in the Race Course area of Coimbatore. Ramanathapuram police, acting on suspicion, detained the trio for questioning. During the interrogation, the police confiscated Vishwa's mobile phone.

Fearing further questioning, Vishwa attempted to escape by jumping into Valankulam Lake. However, his attempt to swim across the lake proved fatal as he drowned.

Upon receiving the information, the Race Course police arrived at the scene and retrieved Vishwa's body. The deceased's body was then sent to Coimbatore Government Hospital for post-mortem examination.
