Coimbatore: In a significant development, reports suggest that a resolution has been passed to impose a lifetime ban on professors involved in the fake faculty scandal. The issue came to light when a private organization reported irregularities in the recruitment of professors in engineering colleges affiliated with Anna University.

Anna University collected information on professors who were allegedly appointed fraudulently or irregularly. As the issue escalated, a three-member committee was formed to investigate the matter. Meanwhile, crucial decisions regarding this issue were reportedly taken at a recent Anna University syndicate meeting.

According to sources, the syndicate has resolved to take criminal action against 295 private engineering colleges implicated in the fake faculty scandal. Additionally, a decision has been made to impose a lifetime ban on approximately 900 professors connected to this controversy. It is reported that the syndicate administrators have also approved these measures.

The fake faculty scandal has sent shockwaves through the academic community in Tamil Nadu. The resolution, if implemented, could have far-reaching consequences for the individuals and institutions involved. It remains to be seen how the affected parties will respond to these stringent measures and what impact this will have on the higher education landscape in the state.
