DMK West Zone Chairman Pays Tribute to V.O. Chidambaram on His 153rd Birth Anniversary in Vadavalli, Coimbatore

DMK officials and party members gathered at Vadavalli old bus stand to commemorate V.O. Chidambaram's 153rd birth anniversary. They garlanded his portrait and paid respects to the freedom fighter.


Coimbatore: The 153rd birth anniversary of V.O. Chidambaram, fondly known as Kappalottiya Tamizhan (The Tamil Helmsman) and Sekkizhutha Semmal, was commemorated today (5/9/2024) at the old bus stand in Vadavalli, Coimbatore.

The event was led by V.M. Shanmugasundaram, DMK Secretary of Vadavalli area. Deivayani Tamilmarai, the Coimbatore Corporation West Zone Chairman, was present to pay respects to the freedom fighter's portrait.

Other notable attendees included DMK ward secretaries Viswanathan and Velusamy, along with party members Mahalakshmi, Madan, Kathiresan, Srinivasan, Sundarrajan, Surya, and James. Representatives from the VOC Council were also present at the event.

The dignitaries and party members garlanded the portrait of V.O. Chidambaram and paid their respects to the legendary freedom fighter who played a significant role in India's struggle for independence. The event served as a reminder of Chidambaram's contributions to the nation and his enduring legacy in Tamil Nadu's political and social landscape.
