Youth Arrested with Narcotic Pills in Coimbatore's Kavundampalayam

Coimbatore police arrested a 27-year-old man in Kavundampalayam with 75 narcotic pills during a routine patrol. Four others are being sought in connection with the case.

Coimbatore: In a significant drug bust, the Coimbatore police arrested a youth in possession of narcotic pills in the Kavundampalayam area on September 4. The arrest was made during a routine patrol by Inspector Rajesh and Sub-Inspector Devendran of the Kavundampalayam Police Station.

The police officers were patrolling a forested area in Kavundampalayam when they spotted a suspicious individual who attempted to flee upon seeing them. The officers managed to apprehend the suspect and conducted a search. To their surprise, they discovered 75 narcotic pills in his possession, leading to his immediate arrest.

Upon interrogation, the arrested individual was identified as Veeramanikanadan, a 27-year-old resident of TVS Nagar, Shakthi Garden in Gaundampalayam. The police confiscated his mobile phone along with the narcotic pills as evidence.

Further investigation into the case has revealed potential connections to a larger drug network. The police are currently searching for four more individuals allegedly involved in this drug operation. The suspects have been identified as Balan, also known as Chori Balan, Bhupathi, Mukunth, and Govind Rao.

This arrest highlights the ongoing efforts of the Coimbatore police to combat drug trafficking and substance abuse in the city. The case has raised concerns about the prevalence of narcotic substances in the area and the need for increased vigilance.

As the investigation continues, authorities are urging the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities related to drug trafficking or consumption in their neighborhoods.
