Police Akka Awareness Stickers Launched on Vehicles in Coimbatore

Coimbatore police initiate 'Police Akka' awareness campaign, affixing stickers on all vehicles from September 5. The initiative aims to raise public awareness, especially among women.

Coimbatore: The Coimbatore District Police have launched a new awareness campaign called 'Police Akka' (Police Sister) by affixing stickers on all vehicles in the district. The initiative, which began on September 5, aims to raise awareness about women's safety and police assistance.

As part of this campaign, police personnel have started placing awareness stickers on various vehicles across Coimbatore district. Today, the All Women Police Station Inspector led the effort in the Gandhipuram area, where stickers were affixed to auto-rickshaws.

The 'Police Akka' initiative is designed to create a sense of security among the public, particularly women. By prominently displaying these stickers on vehicles, the police hope to remind citizens that help is readily available and to encourage them to reach out in times of need.

During the sticker distribution, police officers also conducted awareness sessions for the general public and women in particular. They explained the purpose of the 'Police Akka' program and provided information on how to seek police assistance when required.

This initiative is part of the Coimbatore Police's ongoing efforts to strengthen community policing and build trust between law enforcement and the public. The department hopes that the 'Police Akka' stickers will serve as a visible reminder of police presence and support throughout the city.
