Vinayagar Chaturthi Celebrated with Grandeur in Coimbatore's Outskirts

Hindu organizations in Thudiyalur, Narasimhanaickenpalayam, and Rakkipalayam areas of Coimbatore celebrated Vinayagar Chaturthi with diverse Vinayagar idols and festivities, attracting large crowds of devotees.



Coimbatore: The Vinayagar Chaturthi festival was celebrated with great enthusiasm in the outskirts of Coimbatore, with various Hindu organizations installing unique Vinayagar idols across several neighborhoods. The festivities were particularly vibrant in areas such as Thudiyalur, Rangammal Colony, Narasimhanaickenpalayam, Rakkipalayam, Vellakinar, Urumandampalayam, Thadagam, Kanuvai, Pannimadai, Goundampalayam, and Periyanaickenpalayam.

Hindu organizations including Hindu Munnani, Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha, Bharat Sena, Vivekananda Youth Forum, and Hindu Makkal Katchi, along with local residents, set up elaborate pandals featuring various forms of Lord Vinayagar. The idols included Maharaja Vinayagar, Singa (Lion) Vinayagar, Annaparavai (Swan) Vinayagar, Mappillai (Bridegroom) Vinayagar, Mayil (Peacock) Vinayagar, and Neer Veezhchi (Waterfall) Vinayagar.



In Narasimhanaickenpalayam, a Rajasthani palace-themed set was erected to house the Vinayagar idol, attracting numerous devotees. Varagi Manikanda Swamigal graced the occasion and blessed the gathering.

The celebrations were marked by the distribution of prasadam to the public across all locations. Devotees were served traditional delicacies such as pongal, sundal, kozhukattai, tomato rice, and tamarind rice as part of the annadanam (food offering) during the festivities.

The grand scale of celebrations and the diverse forms of Vinayagar idols showcased the cultural richness and devotional fervor of the region, bringing together communities in a spirit of joy and reverence.
