A clay artist in Udumalpet creates a Jigardhanda Double XX Vinayagar statue for Vinayagar Chaturthi, earning praise from actor Lawrence on social media.

Coimbatore: In a delightful display of artistic talent and cinematic inspiration, a clay artist from Udumalpet has created a unique Vinayagar statue based on the popular movie "Jigardhanda Double XX," starring actor Lawrence. The creation has garnered attention and praise, including recognition from Lawrence himself.

Ranjith, a skilled potter from Poolavadi near Udumalpet in Tiruppur district, is known for his intricate clay work. A devoted fan of superstar Rajinikanth, Ranjith had previously impressed many with his clay statue of Vettaiyan Vinayagar, inspired by one of Rajinikanth's recent films.

As Vinayagar Chaturthi approached, Ranjith decided to pay tribute to another recent cinematic success. He meticulously crafted a clay statue of Vinayagar in the style of Lawrence's character from the hit movie "Jigardhanda Double XX." The artist shared images of his creation on social media, where it quickly caught the attention of netizens and eventually reached actor Lawrence.

Impressed by Ranjith's skill and creativity, Lawrence took to his X (formerly Twitter) platform to express his appreciation. The actor wrote, "Thank you to the clay artist Rajini Ranjith for creating the Jigardhanda Double X Vinayagar. I will meet Ranjith in person very soon." This acknowledgment from the star has brought immense joy to Ranjith, boosting his morale and highlighting his artistic talents.

The incident showcases the intersection of traditional art forms with modern pop culture, as well as the power of social media in connecting artists with the subjects of their inspiration. Ranjith's clay Vinayagar statues not only celebrate the festive spirit of Vinayagar Chaturthi but also pay homage to the vibrant world of Tamil cinema.
