Preparations Intensify for Immersion of Vinayagar Idols at Key Tank Banks in Coimbatore

Coimbatore authorities are making intensive preparations at major tank banks for the immersion of 708 Vinayagar idols installed across the district for Vinayagar Chaturthi festival.

Coimbatore: As the Vinayagar Chaturthi festival continues in Coimbatore district, authorities are ramping up preparations for the immersion of idols at key water bodies.

A total of 708 Vinayagar idols have been installed and are being worshipped at various locations across the district.

To ensure public safety during the festivities, a robust security arrangement of 3,500 police personnel has been deployed throughout the district. The police force is actively engaged in maintaining law and order as the celebrations progress.

Several Hindu organizations, including Hindu Munnani, Vishva Hindu Parishad, BJP, Hindu Makkal Katchi (Tamil Nadu), Bharat Sena, and others, have planned idol processions for September 9 and 11. The immersion of Vinayagar idols is scheduled to take place at designated locations including Singanallur, Kurichi Kulam, Kuniyamuthur, Vellakkinaru, and Muthanankulam.

In preparation for the immersion ceremonies, authorities have intensified safety measures and preliminary arrangements at key tank banks, including Kuniyamuthur.

These preparations include the installation of protective barriers and other necessary infrastructure to facilitate the safe and orderly immersion of the idols.

The local administration is working closely with religious organizations and law enforcement to ensure that the immersion process is carried out smoothly, with due respect to religious sentiments and environmental considerations. As the festival reaches its culmination, officials are urging the public to cooperate with the arrangements and follow safety guidelines during the immersion ceremonies.
