Special Cleanliness Drive in Kamarajapuram Area of Coimbatore Corporation: MP, Collector, Mayor, and Corporation Commissioner Participate

Coimbatore MP Ganapathi Rajkumar launched a mass cleaning initiative in Kamarajapuram, Ward 69 of Central Zone, Coimbatore Corporation on September 11, 2024. The event saw participation from key officials.


Coimbatore: In a significant move towards urban cleanliness, a special mass cleaning drive was inaugurated in the Kamarajapuram area of Coimbatore Corporation on September 11, 2024.



The initiative was launched by Coimbatore Member of Parliament Ganapathi Rajkumar, in the presence of District Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati, Mayor Kalpana Anandakumar, and Corporation Commissioner M Sivaguru Prabhakaran.



The cleanliness drive, focused on Ward 69 of the Central Zone in Coimbatore Corporation, involved over 100 sanitation workers. The comprehensive cleaning operation included various activities aimed at improving the overall hygiene and appearance of the area.

Key tasks undertaken during the mass cleaning drive included:



1. Cleaning of sewage systems

2. Removal of construction debris from roads

3. Dengue mosquito prevention measures, including fogging

4. Clearing of accumulated soil from road medians

5. Trimming of tree branches interfering with electric lines along roadsides

6. Removal of unnecessary shrubs, vines, and weeds

7. General cleaning and beautification of the area



The initiative is part of the Coimbatore Corporation's ongoing efforts to enhance cleanliness and public health across various parts of the city, benefiting the local residents.

Deputy Mayor Vetriselvan, Corporation Deputy Commissioner Sivakumar, Central Zone Chairman Meenalogu, public representatives, health officials, and corporation officers were also present during the event, showcasing a united front in the city's cleanliness efforts.

This mass cleaning drive in Kamarajapuram demonstrates the local administration's commitment to maintaining a clean and healthy urban environment, setting an example for other areas within the Coimbatore Corporation limits.
