Copra Auction at Anamalai Regulated Market: Price Update

The Anamalai Regulated Market conducted its bi-weekly copra auction on Thursday, September 12. First-grade copra fetched up to ₹109.99 per kg, while second-grade reached ₹95.99 per kg.


Coimbatore: The Anamalai Regulated Market held its regular bi-weekly copra auction on Thursday, September 12. The auction, which typically takes place every Tuesday and Thursday, saw active participation from traders and farmers.

According to the market supervisor, the auction witnessed competitive bidding for both first and second-grade copra. For the first-grade copra, 85 sacks were put up for sale. The prices ranged from a minimum of ₹100.99 to a maximum of ₹109.99 per kilogram.

The second-grade copra saw a larger volume with 94 sacks available for auction. The bidding for this grade started at a minimum price of ₹80.69 and reached a maximum of ₹95.99 per kilogram.

These auctions play a crucial role in determining the market prices for copra in the region and provide a transparent platform for farmers to sell their produce. The consistent conduct of these auctions helps maintain price stability and ensures fair trade practices in the coconut industry of the Anamalai region.
