Valparai Gears Up for Vinayagar Idol Immersion: Traffic Diversions Announced

Valparai prepares for the immersion of 108 Vinayagar idols on September 15. Police announce traffic diversions to manage the procession and avoid congestion in the hill town.

Coimbatore: The hill town of Valparai is set to witness the immersion of 108 Vinayagar idols on September 15, marking the culmination of week-long festivities. The police have announced traffic diversions to ensure smooth conduct of the procession and minimize disruptions to regular traffic.

The idols, ranging from 3 to 10 feet in height, were installed in various temples across Valparai. On September 15, starting at 12:00 PM, these idols will be taken in a procession from the estate area temples to the Valparai Subramaniya Swamy Temple.

The main procession through Valparai town's primary streets will commence at 2:00 PM and conclude with the immersion of idols in the Nadumalai River at 5:00 PM. To manage the expected crowd and traffic, the police have implemented several diversions.

All government buses operating on the Solaiyar Dam route will depart from the new bus stand and travel via old Valparai road. Buses plying to Cinchona, Mudis, and Vellamalai will operate from the new bus stand. Those heading to Akkamalai and Karumalai will depart from the old factory at Nadumala.

The police statement, released on September 14, emphasized that these traffic arrangements are being implemented to prevent congestion and ensure the safety of both devotees and regular commuters during the festive procession.
