Removed BJP Functionary Denies Releasing Annapoorna Srinivasan's Video

Sathish, former BJP Singanallur zonal president, was removed from the party's primary membership. He denies releasing the apology video of Annapoorna Hotel owner and questions the validity of his removal.

Coimbatore: Sathish, who served as the BJP Singanallur zonal president in Coimbatore, has been removed from the party's primary membership. The action came after BJP members complained to the party leadership that Sathish had spread misinformation on social media and engaged in anti-party activities regarding the release of an apology video from the Annapoorna Hotel owner.

BJP District President Ramesh took action against Sathish with the approval of BJP State Organizational Secretary Kesava Vinayagam, State General Secretary A.P. Muruganandam, and State Treasurer S.R. Sekhar.

In response to his removal, Sathish stated that he had grown within the party from a regular branch responsibility. He suggested that the district president might have been responsible for releasing the video and claimed that no explanation was sought from him regarding the issue.

Sathish also questioned the validity of his removal, pointing out that his term had already expired on the 31st of the previous month. He expressed confusion about how he could be removed from a position he no longer held.

Furthermore, Sathish mentioned that he plans to provide an explanation to BJP State President Annamalai once he returns to Tamil Nadu.

The controversy surrounding the apology video of the Annapoorna Hotel owner has created ripples within the local BJP unit, leading to this disciplinary action against Sathish. The incident highlights internal disagreements and the party's efforts to maintain discipline among its ranks.
