Coimbatore: A vehicle transporting fish waste water from Kerala was intercepted by local residents near Komangalamputhur on the national highway near Pollachi, Coimbatore district. The incident sparked a public protest against the illegal dumping of waste in Tamil Nadu.

The vehicle, owned by Stephen from Nagercoil, was en route from Kozhikode to a private company named MPN in Thoothukudi, which produces fish oil and poultry feed. As the vehicle was passing through Komangalamputhur, it allegedly opened its tanks and began dumping fish waste water onto the national highway.

Alert locals who witnessed the act immediately stopped the vehicle and alerted the Komangalam police station. The vehicle was subsequently taken to the police station for further investigation.
