Mayor Inaugurates Construction of Classrooms and Office Rooms at Municipal School in Coimbatore

Mayor Ranganayaki Ramachandran inaugurated the construction of classrooms and office rooms worth Rs. 1.15 crore at a municipal school in Coimbatore's South Zone on September 16, 2024. The project is funded by Consolidated Pvt Ltd under their CSR initiative.


Coimbatore: Mayor Ranganayaki Ramachandranr inaugurated the construction of classrooms and office rooms at a municipal school in Coimbatore's South Zone on Monday. The project, valued at Rs. 1.15 crore, is fully funded by Consolidated Pvt Ltd under their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.

The inauguration ceremony took place at the Vaideeswara Vidyalaya Middle School in Telungupalayam area, which falls under Ward 76 of Coimbatore Corporation's South Zone. Corporation Commissioner M Sivaguru Prabhakaran IAS was present at the event.



The Vaideeswara Vidyalaya Middle School, which was previously managed privately with state government approval, has been handed over to the Corporation. The school is situated on a 1.95-acre campus, with a building area of 7,500 square feet and a playground spanning 0.95 acres. Currently, 266 students are enrolled in the school.

The existing school building, constructed 72 years ago, had deteriorated significantly. As the private management was unable to maintain the structure, it was transferred to the Corporation's custody.

Under the new project, 10 classrooms and office rooms will be constructed across the ground and first floors, covering an area of 6,818 square feet. The Mayor expressed her gratitude to Consolidated Pvt Ltd for their generous contribution of Rs. 1.15 crore towards the school building project.

The event was attended by Deputy Mayor R. Vetriselvan, South Zone Chairperson R. Dhanalakshmi, Education Committee Chairperson Malathi Nagaraj, Councilor Rajkumar, Assistant Commissioner (General) Ilangovan, Consolidated Pvt Ltd's Managing Director Rakesh Ramanand, Chief Administrative Officer Hariharan, Assistant Engineer Kanagaraj, Assistant Town Planner Vijayalakshmi, Zonal Health Officer Andiappan, Assistant Engineer Gopalakrishnan, and other Corporation officials.
