International Tai Chi Conference Begins in Coimbatore

A four-day International Tai Chi Conference commenced in Coimbatore on September 19, focusing on the benefits and practices of Tai Chi for mental and physical well-being.


Coimbatore: The International Tai Chi Conference, organized by Nithya Gurukula, kicked off today (September 19) in Coimbatore, aiming to provide comprehensive information about the benefits, proper techniques, and applications of Tai Chi in human life.

The inaugural ceremony of the four-day conference took place at the Coimbatore Club in the Race Course area. Sasi Chandran, CEO of Nithya Gurukula Mental Health Counseling Center and Training Institute, welcomed the attendees and delivered the opening remarks.

Honorary invitees Mrs. Lakshmi Narayanan and Sivasailam Narayanan, Director of Pai Metal Bearings, officially inaugurated the conference by lighting the traditional lamp.

Dr. Paul Lam, Director of the Tai Chi Health Institute in Sydney, Australia, participated as the keynote speaker. He shared his experiences in Tai Chi, highlighting its integration into human life for improving physical health, addressing various health-related issues, and alleviating stress.

Dr. Lam emphasized the crucial role of immunity in all aspects of human life and explained how Tai Chi helps to enhance it. He also discussed the global implementation of Tai Chi as an excellent practice for improving mental and physical health, as well as boosting immunity.

The event saw participation from Nithya Gurukula administrators including Prasanth Chandran, Natasha Chandran, and Sudha Sundaram, among others.

The conference, which will continue for the next three days, aims to explore various aspects of Tai Chi and its applications in daily life. Participants will have the opportunity to learn from experts and engage in practical sessions throughout the event.
