Coimbatore: In a heartwarming gesture, Admk MLA and AIADMK headquarters secretary SP Velumani has gifted 2 cents of land to Kamalathal, popularly known as the "One Rupee Idli Paatti" (grandmother) in Coimbatore. The 90-year-old woman has been selling idlis for just one rupee for many years, earning widespread appreciation for her service.

Kamalathal, a resident of Vadivelampalayam in the Pooluvapatti area of Thondamuthur assembly constituency, has been running her modest idli business for decades. Her commitment to providing affordable food to the needy has touched many hearts across the region.
