A young man from Senjeri Hill near Sulur, Coimbatore, died after receiving an injection for stomach pain at a local medical center. Police have arrested the medical shop owner and launched an investigation.

Coimbatore: In a tragic incident, a young man from Senjeri Hill near Sultanpet in Coimbatore district lost his life after receiving an injection for stomach pain at a local medical center. The police have arrested the medical shop owner and initiated an investigation into the matter.

Prabu, the younger son of Thangakittan couple from Senjeri Hill, worked as a driver in the same area. On Monday afternoon, Prabu experienced sudden stomach pain. He visited Das Medical Center in Senjeri with a relative to get an injection for relief.

After returning home, Prabu reportedly experienced severe stomach pain again and went to the bathroom. When he didn't come out for a long time, his mother Rangammal went to check on him and found him unconscious on the floor. With the help of neighbors, Prabu's parents rushed him to a nearby private hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

Following the incident, Rangammal filed a complaint at the Sultanpet Police Station, alleging that her son's death was caused by the wrong medication administered at Das Medical Center. The police have registered a case and are conducting an investigation.

Prabu's body was sent to the ESI Hospital in Singanallur, Coimbatore, for post-mortem examination. Meanwhile, the deceased's parents and relatives staged a protest in front of the post-mortem ward at the Coimbatore Government Hospital, demanding action against the medical center.

The protesters claimed that the wrong medication was the cause of Prabu's death and called for appropriate action against Das Medical Center. They also urged the government to take necessary steps to prevent similar incidents in the future.

The protest was called off after police officials and medical authorities assured them of proper action in the matter.
