Authorities Seal Illegal Liquor Shop Near Thondamuthur

Police conducted a surprise raid on September 22 near Thondamuthur, sealing an illegal TASMAC bar following complaints of early morning alcohol sales on the Thondamuthur-Narasipuram road.

Coimbatore: Following persistent complaints about illegal alcohol sales in the early hours on the Thondamuthur-Narasipuram road, the police conducted a surprise inspection on September 22. The raid confirmed the illegal operation of a liquor outlet in the area.

Acting on orders from District Superintendent of Police Karthikeyan, officials promptly sealed the entire TASMAC bar using tin sheets. The Perur Tahsildar, who arrived at the scene, took an unusual step by sealing the shop with two wire cots that the shop's employees were using for sleeping.

The sealing process drew attention from local alcohol enthusiasts who had come to purchase liquor. They were seen laughing and making light-hearted comments about the situation as they passed by the sealed establishment.

While senior officials had ordered the complete sealing of the shop with tin sheets, the use of wire cots for sealing has become a source of amusement among the regular patrons. This incident has sparked humor and discussions among the local community, highlighting the unconventional methods sometimes employed in law enforcement actions.

The authorities' action comes as part of ongoing efforts to curb illegal liquor sales and enforce regulations in the region. The sealed TASMAC outlet will remain closed pending further investigation and legal proceedings.
