AIADMK's S.P. Velumani Accuses DMK Government of Neglecting Coimbatore's Development Projects

AIADMK MLA S.P. Velumani criticized the DMK government at Anna's 116th birth anniversary event in Sulur, claiming they have shelved crucial projects for Coimbatore, including the Anaimalai Nallaru scheme.

Coimbatore:AIADMK MLA S.P. Velumani launched a scathing attack on the DMK government during a public meeting held in Sulur, Kittampalayam, on September 22nd to commemorate the 116th birth anniversary of Perarignar Anna. Velumani, addressing the gathering, highlighted the AIADMK's achievements and criticized the current government's alleged neglect of Coimbatore's development.

Velumani reminded the audience of Anna's acknowledgment of M.G.R.'s role in DMK's early success. He claimed that if M.G.R. had lived for two more years, a separate nation for Tamils in Sri Lanka might have been achieved. The former minister also mentioned that even today, Tamil people in Sri Lanka pay respects to M.G.R.'s statue near Prabhakaran's house.

Highlighting the AIADMK government's efforts, Velumani stated that their initiatives had ensured Coimbatore city would not face water scarcity for the next 50 years. He challenged the DMK government to a public debate on the welfare schemes implemented for Coimbatore district in the past three years.

Velumani accused the DMK government of shelving all of Coimbatore's projects, including the Anaimalai Nallaru scheme. He alleged that cannabis sales are rampant across Tamil Nadu under the current administration. The former minister's strong words reflect the ongoing political tension between the AIADMK and DMK parties in the region.
