Coimbatore: The Goondas Act has been invoked against a cannabis case offender in Coimbatore, following the recommendation of the district police and subsequent order from the District Collector.

On August 18, Palani Mani, a resident of Madurai, was arrested for possessing 6 kilograms of cannabis intended for sale within the jurisdiction of Karamadai police station in Coimbatore district. The arrest highlighted the ongoing efforts to curb drug trafficking in the region.
