Coimbatore Police Arrest Two Kerala Natives for House Break-in and Theft

Coimbatore district police arrested two men from Kerala for breaking into a house in Negamam and stealing gold jewelry and cash. The theft occurred on September 12, 2024, and the arrests were made on September 24, 2024.


Coimbatore: The Coimbatore District Police have successfully apprehended two individuals from Kerala in connection with a house break-in and theft case in the Negamam area. The arrests were made on September 24, 2024, following an intensive investigation.

The incident occurred on September 12, 2024, when Jagadeeswaran (47), a resident of Negamam, returned home after visiting his sons in Malumichampatti to find his house had been broken into. The thieves had stolen approximately 12 sovereigns of gold jewelry and Rs. 8 lakhs in cash from his cupboard. A case was registered at the Negamam Police Station based on the victim's complaint.

Acting on orders from District Superintendent of Police Dr. K. Karthikeyan, IPS, a special team was formed to investigate the case. Through a combination of CCTV footage analysis and thorough investigation, the team identified and arrested two suspects: Baiju (30), son of Palanisamy, and Anugrah (28), son of Purushothaman, both hailing from Kerala.

During interrogation, the suspects confessed to their involvement in the break-in and theft.



The police recovered 12 sovereigns of gold jewelry, Rs. 6,90,000 in cash, and a four-wheeler used in the crime from the accused. The arrested individuals have been remanded to judicial custody.

District Superintendent of Police Dr. K. Karthikeyan has issued a stern warning that strict legal action will be taken against anyone involved in criminal activities. He also urged the public not to fear reporting crimes and encouraged them to contact the Coimbatore District Police Control Room at 94981-81212 or send information via WhatsApp to 77081-00100. The police have assured that the identity of informants will be kept confidential.
