DMK Coimbatore District Secretary N. Karthik appeared in JM Court 1 on Wednesday regarding a case alleging attack on AIADMK workers during a book distribution event in Pappanaickenpalayam.

Coimbatore: Former MLA and DMK Coimbatore District Secretary N. Karthik appeared before the Judicial Magistrate Court 1 in Coimbatore on Wednesday morning in connection with a case filed against him for allegedly attacking AIADMK functionaries.

The case stems from an incident that occurred during a book distribution event in Pappanaickenpalayam. Karthik was distributing copies of "Oyyaara Kondaiyaam Thaazhampoovaaam," a book written by DMK leader Kalaignar Karunanidhi, to the public. The prosecution alleges that during this event, Karthik and his supporters attacked AIADMK party members and damaged an AIADMK office board and flag post nearby.

Karthik, who maintains that the case is fabricated, was accompanied by several DMK functionaries and lawyers. Notable among them were DMK General Committee Member R. Manikandan, lawyers Augustus and P. Krishnamurthy, and City District Lawyers' Wing Organizer Anbu Chezhiyan.

The court appearance drew a significant gathering of DMK supporters and party officials. Among those present were Town Secretary P. Anandan, Narayanan, Coimbatore District Trustee Committee Chairman Metal Rajamani, former Corporation Councilor Kesavan, and several other party executives and lawyers.

As the case proceeds, it continues to highlight the ongoing political tensions between the DMK and AIADMK in Coimbatore. The court's decision in this matter is awaited, and it remains a topic of interest in local political circles.
