Awareness Rally on Drug Eradication Held in Udumalaipettai

An awareness rally focusing on Swachh Bharat, drug eradication, road safety, and HIV/AIDS was organized in Udumalaipettai on September 26, 2024, by various organizations and educational institutions.


Tirupur: In a collaborative effort to raise awareness on critical social issues, several organizations came together to conduct an awareness rally in Udumalaipettai on September 26, 2024. The event was jointly organized by the National Service Scheme of Vidyasagar Arts and Science College, Red Ribbon Club, Udumalaipettai Government Hospital, Police Department, and Ennam Pol Vaazhkai Foundation.



The rally, which focused on Swachh Bharat, drug eradication, road safety, and HIV/AIDS awareness, commenced from Udumalaipettai Kuttai Thidal and proceeded through the town's main streets before concluding at the Central Bus Stand. Leading the procession were Udumalaipettai Police Inspector Gopalakrishnan, Traffic Inspector Krishnamurthy, College Principal Jayakumar, professors, the Chief Medical Officer of Udumalaipettai Government Hospital, staff members, and S.A.I. Nelson, founder of Ennam Pol Vaazhkai Foundation.

Students from the college actively participated in the rally, carrying awareness banners and distributing pamphlets to educate the public about these crucial issues. The event was meticulously organized by the college principal, professors, volunteers, government hospital staff, and the police department, working in close coordination to ensure its success.

The rally served as a platform to disseminate important information and create awareness among the residents of Udumalaipettai about the dangers of drug abuse, the importance of maintaining cleanliness, road safety measures, and HIV/AIDS prevention. By involving students and various stakeholders, the organizers aimed to maximize the impact of their message and encourage community participation in addressing these social challenges.
