Former Minister Senthil Balaji Released on Bail, Expresses Gratitude to CM Stalin

Former Minister Senthil Balaji was released on conditional bail after 471 days in Puzhal prison. He thanked Chief Minister Stalin and vowed to fight the case legally.

Coimbatore: Former Minister V. Senthil Balaji was released on conditional bail from Puzhal Central Prison after 471 days of incarceration. The Supreme Court had granted him conditional bail, which was subsequently implemented by the Chennai Principal Sessions Court after accepting bail guarantees.

Upon his release, Senthil Balaji expressed his heartfelt gratitude to DMK President and Chief Minister M.K. Stalin. "I extend my lifelong thanks to the party leader and Chief Minister who has shown love, trust, and affection towards me," Balaji stated in an interview.

The former minister, who was arrested in connection with a job recruitment scam case, maintained his innocence and attributed his legal troubles to political vendetta. "I will fight this false case, which has been filed against me due to political animosity, through legal means and emerge victorious," he asserted.

Balaji's release comes after a prolonged legal battle that saw him move from custody to hospital and back to prison. The Supreme Court's decision to grant bail has been seen as a significant development in the high-profile case that has captured public attention in Tamil Nadu.

The conditional bail order stipulates certain restrictions on Balaji's movements and activities, the details of which are yet to be fully disclosed. As he steps out of prison, the political landscape in Tamil Nadu watches closely to see how this development might impact the state's political dynamics.

Balaji's case has been a point of contention between the ruling DMK and the opposition, with allegations and counter-allegations flying thick and fast. His release and subsequent statements are likely to reignite debates on the nature of the case and its political implications.

As the former minister prepares to fight his case outside of prison, his supporters have expressed joy at his release, while his detractors continue to call for justice in the alleged scam. The coming days are expected to see increased political activity as Balaji re-enters the public sphere, albeit under the constraints of his bail conditions.
