Viswakarma Community Leaders Meet MLA Vanathi Srinivasan, Seek Appointment with Finance Minister

Coimbatore Viswakarma community leaders met MLA Vanathi Srinivasan on September 26, requesting her to arrange a meeting with Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman to discuss recent comments about their community.


Coimbatore: Representatives of Viswakarma community associations in Coimbatore met with Coimbatore South constituency MLA Vanathi Srinivasan on September 26. The meeting focused on seeking a review of Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman's recent comments about the Viswakarma community and related industries.

The community leaders requested MLA Vanathi Srinivasan to arrange a personal meeting with Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. Responding positively, Vanathi Srinivasan assured them, "I will immediately arrange a time slot for you to meet the Finance Minister." She also promised her full support for the Viswakarma community, stating, "I will stand by the Viswakarma people and do whatever is needed for them."



The Viswakarma community, known for their traditional craftsmanship and skills in various industries, expressed their concern over the Finance Minister's recent statements. They hope to discuss these matters directly with Nirmala Sitharaman to clarify any misunderstandings and highlight the community's contributions to the economy.



The meeting was attended by several prominent members of the Viswakarma community, including S.M. Kamal Hassan, President of the Coimbatore Goldsmith Association. The community leaders expressed their gratitude to MLA Vanathi Srinivasan for her prompt response and willingness to facilitate a dialogue with the Union Finance Minister.

This development comes at a time when the Viswakarma community is seeking greater recognition and support for their traditional skills and industries.
