Hindu Makkal Katchi Petitions Coimbatore Police Commissioner Against Hezbollah Tributes

Hindu Makkal Katchi submits petition to Coimbatore Police Commissioner, urging surveillance against attempts to pay tributes to Hezbollah leader Nasrallah through flex banners. The party warns against supporting terrorist organizations.

Coimbatore: The Hindu Makkal Katchi (HMK) has submitted a petition to the Coimbatore City Police Commissioner, urging authorities to monitor and prevent attempts to pay tributes to Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah through flex banners containing his photographs. The petition was led by the party's district general secretary, Surya.

The petition comes in the wake of recent developments in the Middle East, where Israel has been conducting targeted attacks against Hezbollah offices and residences in Lebanon. During these operations, Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah was reportedly killed, along with several other commanders of the organization.

The HMK's petition highlights concerns about similar tribute attempts in Tamil Nadu, particularly in areas with a significant Muslim population. The party cited instances in Chennai's Triplicane area where banners were reportedly displayed in support of the deceased Hezbollah leader.

The Hindu Makkal Katchi expressed worry that such actions could mislead Muslim youth and called for appropriate legal action by the Tamil Nadu Police. They emphasized the need to nip in the bud any forces supporting Islamic terrorist organizations.

The petition also touched upon the broader context of ongoing conflicts, including Israel's operations against Hamas in Gaza and actions against the Houthi movement. It referenced Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu's statement that the war would not end until terrorism is completely eradicated and Israeli hostages are rescued.

The HMK accused certain political parties and alliances in India of maintaining connections with Islamic sectarian organizations and conducting anti-Israel propaganda. They called for support of Israel's actions against terrorist groups from various countries, including Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, and Iran.

The party urged the Tamil Nadu Police to vigilantly monitor and take action against any attempts to glorify or support terrorist organizations. They stressed the importance of countering forces that align with what they termed as "Islamic religious extremist organizations."

In conclusion, the Hindu Makkal Katchi's petition seeks strict surveillance and prompt action from law enforcement to prevent any public displays of support for organizations they consider terrorist entities.
