Communist Party Demands ₹3000 Pension for Workers at District Conference in Udumalpet

The Indian United Communist Party held a district conference in Udumalpet, Tirupur, demanding ₹3000 pension for workers and other welfare measures. The event included a rally and speeches by state leaders.


Tirupur: The Indian United Communist Party (IUCP) held a district conference in Udumalpet, Tirupur district, emphasizing the need for increased pension benefits and other welfare measures for workers. The event, organized by the IUCP Construction Workers and Pensioners Union, began with a rally led by State Union Organizer Gunasekaran.



The conference commenced with participants garlanding the full-size statue of Mahatma Gandhi in the Kuttaithadal area of Udumalpet. The procession then moved through the police station, the ancient mosque, Thali Road, and concluded at a marriage hall on Pasupathi Street.



State Secretary Baskaran and State Vice President Balan delivered special addresses at the conference. Speaking to reporters afterwards, State Secretary Baskaran outlined several demands and statements:

1. Pension assistance of ₹3000 should be provided to retired workers.

2. Natural death assistance of ₹25,000 should be given to workers' families.

3. Implementation of a free housing scheme for workers.

4. Provision of free medical insurance for workers.

5. Closure of liquor shops near schools and colleges due to the increasing drug sales in Tamil Nadu.

6. Opposition to the merger of Kanakkampalayam Panchayat with the municipality.

7. Congratulations to Udhayanidhi Stalin on assuming the post of Deputy Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, with hopes for more beneficial schemes.

8. Strong condemnation of Israel's attack on Iran by the Indian United Communist Party.

9. Call for halting the export of goods from India to Israel.

The conference was attended by several party officials including Tiruppur District Secretary Moorthy, State Committee Member Abbas, Union Executive Paul Narayanan, Union Organizer Sundarraj, and Women's Organizer Vaidehi, among others.
