The heavy downpour is due to a trough of low pressure over South Tamil Nadu and the South-Western Bay of Bengal. Various districts in Tamil Nadu, including Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Nilgiris, and Theni, have been experiencing heavy rainfall for the past two days.
Aruna Nagar, located in the Nallampalaiyam area of Coimbatore, is home to thousands of houses. This area has been repeatedly facing issues of water intrusion into homes and waterlogging on roads during rainy seasons.
