Siruvani Dam Water Level Rises to 42.64 Feet: Farmers Elated

Heavy rainfall in Coimbatore district has led to a significant rise in Siruvani Dam's water level, reaching 42.64 feet. This increase has brought joy to farmers in the region.


Coimbatore: The water level in Siruvani Dam has risen significantly due to heavy rainfall in Coimbatore district. Currently, the dam's water level stands at 42.64 feet.

The full reservoir level of Siruvani Dam is 44.61 feet. The water level has been rapidly increasing over the past few days due to continuous heavy rainfall. The dam's base recorded 20 mm of rainfall, while the dam site area received 27 mm of rain.

Presently, 98.19 MLD (Million Liters per Day) of water is being released from Siruvani Dam to meet the drinking water needs of Coimbatore city residents. This is very close to the stipulated amount of 101.40 MLD.

Farmers in the region are overjoyed as the dam's water level continues to rise. This water reserve is expected to greatly benefit agriculture and meet drinking water needs in the coming months.
