52 Relief Camps Ready in Tirupur District for Northeast Monsoon: Minister Saminathan

Information Minister Saminathan announces preparedness for Northeast Monsoon in Tirupur district. 52 relief camps set up across the district to tackle potential impacts of heavy rainfall.


Tirupur: Information Minister Saminathan announced that necessary measures have been taken to face the impacts of the Northeast Monsoon in Tirupur district, with 52 relief camps ready across the district.



A review meeting was held today at the Tirupur District Collector's office to discuss Northeast Monsoon preparedness with officials from all departments. Information Minister Saminathan, Human Resource Management Minister Kayalvizhi Selvaraj, Tirupur Monitoring Committee Officer Nirmal Raj, District Collector Christuraj, and other government department officials participated in the meeting.





Speaking to reporters, Minister Saminathan stated that necessary arrangements have been made to face the Northeast Monsoon. He mentioned that 52 relief shelters are ready across Tiruppur district to deal with potential monsoon impacts. He added that so far, Tiruppur district has not experienced any major impacts due to the monsoon rains.

The Minister assured that all officials are under constant vigilance, and immediate action will be taken if any issues arise. He expressed concern over the incident of water entering 40 houses in the Veerapandi area but noted that such difficulties are common during new construction works. He assured that the district administration would provide necessary relief and solutions to those affected.

Saminathan also addressed the issue of accumulated garbage in urban areas, stating that work is underway to remove it. He mentioned that steps are being taken to dump the garbage in quarry pits, but there has been some delay due to opposition from local residents. He assured that a solution would be found soon.

Regarding the recent country-made bomb accident in Pandiyan Nagar, Tirupur, the Minister stated that measures are being taken to provide relief funds to the families of the victims and compensation for damaged houses. He added that this matter would be brought to the Chief Minister's attention soon for relief measures.
