Karpagam Deemed University Hosts Kalai Tharakai Award Ceremony by Rotary and Rotaract Clubs

Karpagam Deemed University in Eachanari hosted a special award ceremony on March 25, 2026, where Rotary and Rotaract Clubs jointly presented the prestigious Kalai Tharakai award to Mrs. R. Manimegalai for her excellence in Tamil kolam art, poetry, singing, and leadership qualities.


Coimbatore: Karpagam Deemed University in Eachanari witnessed a grand award ceremony on March 25, 2026, organized jointly by the Rotary and Rotaract Clubs. The event celebrated artistic excellence and leadership qualities in the community.





The highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of the prestigious "Kalai Tharakai" award to Mrs. R. Manimegalai in recognition of her outstanding contributions to Tamil kolam art, poetry, singing, and exemplary leadership qualities. The award was presented by Dr. Ravi, Vice Chancellor of Karpagam Deemed University, and Mrs. Raghavi, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Science at Karpagam Deemed University.





The ceremony was graced by distinguished guests including Rtn. PP. Hendry Amalaraj, District Chairman of Rotary International - 3026, who attended as the chief guest. P. Duraisamay, former secretary of Om Shakthi Raja Rajeshwari Temple, Coimbatore, attended as the guest of honor, adding significance to the occasion.





The collaborative effort between Rotary and Rotaract Clubs underscored the importance of recognizing and encouraging artistic talent and leadership in the community. The event successfully brought together academic excellence and community service, celebrating the achievements of individuals who contribute to cultural preservation and artistic expression.
