Chief Minister Stalin to Address Mega Rally in Coimbatore Today; Senthil Balaji Oversees Arrangements

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin will participate in a mega public meeting in Coimbatore today. The rally at CODISSIA grounds on Avinashi Road this evening will introduce and seek support for alliance candidates. Senior DMK leader Senthil Balaji is supervising all event arrangements.

Coimbatore: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK President M.K. Stalin is scheduled to visit Coimbatore today to participate in a massive public campaign rally in support of DMK-led Secular Progressive Alliance candidates contesting across the district.

The rally, to be held this evening at the CODISSIA grounds located on Avinashi Road, is anticipated to be a significant event in the party's campaign strategy for the Kongu region. Stalin will address the gathering, introduce alliance candidates, and seek public support ahead of the assembly elections.

This visit follows recent campaign rallies in Karur and Erode, which party leaders described as receiving an overwhelming response. DMK cadres in Coimbatore are gearing up to welcome the Chief Minister, with large crowds expected to attend the event.

Senior DMK leader Senthil Balaji, who has been fielded as the party's candidate in the Coimbatore South constituency, has been overseeing arrangements for the event, including stage setup and coordination of party workers. His candidature from this constituency marks a strategic shift from his traditional stronghold of Karur, reflecting the party's focus on strengthening its prospects in Coimbatore.

The DMK has fielded candidates in eight constituencies across Coimbatore district: Senthil Balaji (Coimbatore South), Senthamizh Selvan (Coimbatore North), N.R. Karthikeyan (Thondamuthur), Thalapathy Murugesan (Sulur), Nithyanandan (Pollachi), Sudhagar (Valparai), Kavitha Kalyanasundaram (Mettupalayam), and Sabari Karthikeyan (Kinathukadavu). The remaining two constituencies, Singanallur and Kavundampalayam, have been allocated to Congress, which has yet to announce its candidates.

The delay in Congress party's candidate announcements has reportedly caused concern in alliance circles, with party workers fearing it may impact campaign momentum. Without declared candidates, they may miss the opportunity to be introduced by the Chief Minister at today's rally.

At a recent campaign event in Karur, Stalin praised Senthil Balaji's organizational strength and explained his redeployment to Coimbatore. "Victory was assured for him in Karur. That's why I have given him the responsibility of Coimbatore. I am confident he will win here as well," Stalin stated.

The Coimbatore rally is considered crucial for the DMK, which failed to win even a single constituency out of the ten in the district during the 2021 assembly elections. Party leaders are hopeful that today's meeting will energize cadres and strengthen the alliance's electoral prospects in the region.
