Cyber Crime Awareness Programme Held at Karpagam Deemed University

A Cyber Crime Awareness Programme was organized at Karpagam Deemed University, Coimbatore on August 27, 2026. Additional Superintendent of Police S. Soundararajan delivered the keynote address. Around 900 students participated in the event which focused on cyber security, online fraud prevention, and safe social media usage.


Coimbatore: A special Cyber Crime Awareness Programme was successfully conducted at Karpagam Deemed University on August 27, 2026, at 10:00 AM in the Thirumanthiram Auditorium. The event was presided over by Dr S. Ravi, Vice-Chancellor of Karpagam Deemed University, and B. V. Pradeep, Registrar of the university.






S. Soundararajan, Additional Superintendent of Police (ADSP), Headquarters, Coimbatore District, graced the occasion as the chief guest and delivered an enlightening address to the students on cyber crimes, cyber security, and safe usage of social media platforms. He elaborated extensively on the nature of cyber crimes and detailed strategies on how to protect oneself from such threats in the digital age.




Kavitha, Inspector of Police, Cyber Crime, Coimbatore District, provided detailed insights to the students about various cyber crimes including online fraud, data theft, and social media-related offenses. She explained comprehensive methods to safeguard themselves from these digital threats. She particularly emphasized the importance of being cautious while sharing personal information and advised students to avoid clicking on suspicious links.






K. M. G. Adi Pandiyan, Public Relations Officer of Karpagam Deemed University, along with the university's professors and approximately 900 students actively participated in this awareness programme and benefited greatly. It is noteworthy that the programme was specifically designed to create awareness about cyber security among the student community.
