Woman Succumbs to Burn Injuries in Kerosene Stove Mishap in Coimbatore

A 36-year-old woman from South Ukkadam in Coimbatore succumbed to burn injuries at the GH after a kerosene stove reportedly caught fire while she was attempting to light it at her residence. The Kattoor police have registered a case and are investigating.

Coimbatore:

A 36-year-old woman who sustained severe burn injuries in an accident involving a kerosene stove at her house in South Ukkadam died while undergoing treatment at the Coimbatore Government Medical College Hospital.

The deceased was identified as Geethanjali, wife of Kumar, a resident of the V.H. Road area in South Ukkadam.

According to the police, on the night of September 5, Geethanjali was attempting to light a kerosene stove at her house when flames unexpectedly engulfed her face. She sustained severe burn injuries and was immediately rescued and taken to the Coimbatore Government Medical College Hospital.

Despite intensive treatment, she succumbed to her injuries on Sunday.

The Kattoor police have registered a case and are investigating the incident.
