Air India Express to Launch Twice-Daily Coimbatore-Bengaluru Flights from October 25; Coimbatore NXT Push pays off

Air India Express will introduce twice-daily Coimbatore-Bengaluru flights starting in phases from October 25, becoming fully operational from November 1. This follows the airline's successful Coimbatore-Mumbai services launched on September 1.

Coimbatore: Air India Express will introduce twice-daily Coimbatore-Bengaluru flights, expected to commence in phases from October 25 and become fully operational from November 1.

The development follows the successful launch of twice-daily Coimbatore-Mumbai services by the airline on September 1. With the addition of the new Bengaluru flights, Coimbatore-Bengaluru connectivity will rise to five flights daily, operated jointly by IndiGo and Air India Express.

According to the schedule announced, the morning flights will operate from Bengaluru at 7:20 AM, arriving in Coimbatore at 8:25 AM, and from Coimbatore at 9:10 AM, arriving in Bengaluru at 10:05 AM. The evening flights will operate from Bengaluru at 7:10 PM, arriving in Coimbatore at 8:15 PM, and from Coimbatore at 9:50 PM, arriving in Bengaluru at 10:45 PM.

The new timings are particularly expected to benefit IT and software professionals, business travelers and international passengers, offering convenient connections through Bengaluru to destinations including London and other global cities. The additional capacity and competition are also expected to help keep airfares competitive.

The additional Bengaluru connectivity was among the requests made by the Coimbatore NXT Aviation Task Force during its recent interactions with the Air India team.

The Task Force has now requested Air India Express to commence Coimbatore-Chennai services at the earliest, citing the very high business and passenger movement between the two cities.

Stronger connectivity through Bengaluru, Mumbai and Chennai is expected to improve Coimbatore's access to domestic and global markets and support the economic growth of the entire Western Tamil Nadu region.
