11-year-old girl electrocuted at Ramanathapuram

An 11-year-old girl, who is studying in Class VI, was electrocuted at Amman Kulam area in Ramanathapuram on Sunday evening. Ramanathapuram Police has identified the victim as K. Kanimozhi of the same locality.

According to the police, the girl’s house was under construction and she had gone to the construction site with her father in the evening to sprinkle water on the building.

The father and daughter were sprinkling water when the girl is said to have been electrocuted accidentally in the late hours of the day.

The cause of electrocution is under investigation.

Her body was taken to Coimbatore Medical College Hospital for post-mortem.

Ramanathapuram Police registered a case under 174 (suspicious death) of the Criminal Procedure Code and was investigating.
