In a bid to create awareness among voters, a returning officer from Kavundampalayam constituency printed 8,000 invitations, resembling marriage invitations, to voters, requesting them to visit the polling booths and cast their votes.

In a similar venture, traffic police constable recorded a song with children to promote voter awareness.

Kavundampalayam assembly constituency returning officer A Muniyandi printed the invitations on Sunday. The invitations urged people to exercise their right to vote. It reminded voters that receiving cash bribe for their vote is a violation. Voters were also asked to register election-related complaints with the control room.

"From Monday, we will start distributing these invitations to voters of Kavundampalayam constituency,"
