City financier held for attacking man

A 34-year-old financier, C Raja alias Kozhi Raja, attacked a man who sought loan from him, threatening to kill him.

As per police officials, S D'souza, 29, is a resident of TVS Nagar. He runs a two-wheeler consulting company in the area. On Friday evening, D'Souza approached Raja who stays at Light House Road to seek a loan of Rs1lakh for his brother's wedding expenses.

D'Souza had previously taken loans from Raja. Since he was yet to return previous amounts, Raja refused to loan him more money.

D'souza and raja soon got into a quarrel and Raja threatened to kill D'souza. He took out a knife as well and as they began fighting, he attacked D'souza, who suffered a cut in his arm. A case was registered on Saturday morning.

City police officials said that Raja was a notorious accused and several cases were registered against him.

Based on the complaint from D'souza, Raja was booked under Section 307 (attempt to murder) and he was arrested. Police officials said that he was remanded to judicial custody.
