DMK, AIADMK are obstructionist in approach: J.P. Nadda

The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam and Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam are obstructionist in approach and have spoilt the political climate in Tamil Nadu, said Union Minister of Health J.P. Nadda in Coimbatore on Monday.

Addressing a public meeting at the VOC Park grounds, he said that both the parties were corrupt and thereby had created not so congenial industrial investment climate. The industry growth had resulted in a stunted development in the State, which had huge potential.

The State Government that ought to focus on industrial and agricultural growth was instead selling liquor. In fact, the Government in the clutches of liquor and sand mafia, he charged.

Bharatiya Janata Party National General Secretary Muralidhar Rao said that the AIADMK government had so much promoted liquor sales in the State that TASMAC could well be the party’s symbol.

He said that the BJP would soon announce minimum support price for tea to support the small tea growers in the Nilgiris district.

Earlier in Tirupur, Mr. Rao said BJP should be voted to power in the State for ensuring clusters like Tirupur to achieve the targeted growth by 2020.

“What we need is a state government that works in harmony with the Central Government led by Narendra Modi and for that it is imperative that BJP should come to power in the State”, he said while addressing a public meeting.

According to him, the industrial growth has been severely affected in the State during the last five years.

“People are leaving the state in search of jobs”, he said.

He did not forget to criticise DMK as he blamed the DMK government too for doing little for Tamil Nadu fishermen who were attacked by Lankan Navy.

Mr. Nadda said governance under DMK and AIADMK was marred by corruption and both the parties were two sides of a coin. He reiterated the need to free the State from liquor.
