Meteorology Department not accurate, can conduct CBI Investigation, regarding Rs. 570 crore seized during elections, says SR Balasubramaniam

Meeting the press today for the first time after the elections, he mentioned that DMK Leader Karunanithi is creating confusion by saying “Water from the Mettur Dam should be opened on June 12th”, but the reality is that whether the water from Mettur dam is released or not totally depends upon the level of water in the dam”.

He also added that “Chennai Meteorological Centre is not providing accurate weather forecast to the people. Initially they told that we can expect rainfall from June 1st and then later it was changed  to June 7th. But now they’ve instructed that we can expect rainfall in a couple of days”. Continuing to mount the complaint on the meteorology department, he added that “Skymet a private meteorological center has predicted the rainfall exactly compared to the Chennai Meteorological Center”.

He also mentioned that Central Government should fix the purchase value for all agri produce and also set a minimum purchase value for dry coconut as Rs.75 per kg. He also said that the Central Government should increase the purchase price of all produce just like they have done with rice and sugarcane.

Later he mentioned that Rs.570 crore which was ceased by the police during the elections belongs to State bank of India and the confusion around this cash was caused by officials and police acting out of sync. He also said that there won’t be any opposition from their side if there is a need for CBI investigation for this case.

When the Press asked him about the news of TMC party’s withdrawal from Makkal Nala kootani, he said that it was a decision taken in hindsight.

Usually ADMK members will have huge photo of ADMK general secretary Jayalalitha in their places. But S.R. Balasubramaniam had only a photo of himself sitting with Jayalalitha and few other photos of other Congress leaders.
