Pilichi Panchayat people protest in style at Collectorate

A couple of hours ago, an interesting style of protest was orchestrated by the people of Pilichi Panchayat at the collectorate. Around, 270 families belonging to the Arundhathi caste groups have been allotted Land Pattas in the year 2012 by MLA O.K. Chinnaswamy in the presence of the District collector and Coimbatore North RDO.

Till date, the patta holders have not been allotted with the land. They have raised several protests and complaints to all concerning authorities and departments, leaving the issue unresolved till date. The lack of response from the authorities has pushed the frustrated people to approach the district collector with invitations announcing that they will be occupying the new collectorate building shortly. The most interesting part of this protest was that the invitation was printed like a formal housewarming invite placed in a thaambulam plate. This incident drew the attention of public at Collectorate.
