SRMU Chief Secretary, Kannaiah had convened a meeting to detailing about the nationwide indefinite strike planned by the National Federation of Indian Railwaymen from July 11th Onwards. Today at the meeting, he reported that the Central Government has not taken into consideration their plea on various issues framed for the welfare of the railway department, like, cancellation of the new pension scheme and restore the old employees scheme, to retain existing allowances and advances.

All the five round of meetings between the railway union and the central government has turned out to be negative and he claimed that the procrastinating attitude of the government has compelled them to organise an indefinite boycott.
