City Police Creates awareness on CCTV Installations at Apartments

The Coimbatore City Police have convened for a meeting with the representatives of the apartments and gated communities on June 25th, Saturday. The main feature of this meeting is to create awareness and educate the need for CCTV cameras inside their premise, amongst the representatives. The representatives will have to register their presence at the local police stations.

City Commissioner, A. Amalraj stated that CCTV cameras are mandatory at all multi-stored buildings. The surveillance aids in restricting trespassers and gauging suspicious activities and thereby ensuring the safety of the residents and public.

The number of cameras to be installed depends on the size of the apartments and number of houses. The apartment welfare associations should have the CCTV cameras installed at the main and exit gates, lifts, staircase, utility areas, and corridors. Apart from representatives from apartments, commercial complex, and shopping malls owners will also be insisted regarding installation', said The Deputy Commissioner (Law and Order), S. Lakshmi Devi.
