Fire at abandoned well near Thudiyalur


Today evening, fire broke out in an abandoned well at Kamaraj nagar, Thoppampatti privu, Thudiyalur.

The well belongs to a private person and people residing nearby were allowed to dump their daily wastes, dry leaves, and woods into the well in the intention of closing it. 

Today evening, a few locals residing nearby had noticed thick fumes shooting up from the well. They tried to control the fumes by dispersing mud and water but in no time the fire proliferated, injecting thick smoke into the air. 

The fire fighters rushed to the scene and after a tough 2 hour fight the fire was controlled. The reason for the outbreak is yet to be known. The unexpected incident caused turmoil around the area.
