Flood Alert: Around the Bhavani river banks

It's blushing greens all over the western ghats. The monsoon showers has been lashing throughtout the western ghats belt and especially the  catchment areas.

The suburbs have recorded moderate to heavy showers in the past two weeks, while cities are yet to receive constant showers. However, mild drizzles with strong breeze creates the monsoon mood all over.

Yesterday, Bhavani river officials have alerted the locals around the river banks, on possibility of flood due to heavy downpour around the Bhavani catchment area.

The flood alert was delivered to people through auto rickshaws with loudspeakers. The people in the adjoining areas have been requested to stay cautious and not to enter the river for bathing and laundry puposes,  said Mettupalayam Tahsildar M Babu Robert.
