Tusker death reported at Bhavani Sagar back water area

Presently, the human deaths due to elephants and the death of elephants due to human intervention and other natural reasons for animal deaths has reached an alarming situation and poses a serious threat to our bio diversity. 

 A series of Elephant deaths during the last few weeks in different areas around the district has put the forest officials and environmentalists in a state of dejection. 

It is sad to report yet another dolorous news on the demise of a Pachyderm that occurred just a few hours ago. 

A tusker aged about 25 was found dead near NESRF, Sirumugai Range, Etchipaali Saragam close to Bhavanisagar back water area. The initial investigation reports state that the elephant could have died due to some infection related illness. The autopsy is planned for tomorrow morning by Dr. Manoharan, sources say.
