Protest by All India Students Federation 

The State Bank of India's proposal of nominating Reliance Asset Reconstruction Company (RARC) with the task of recovering bad educational loans from students has led to nation-wide protests from various political parties and students community. 

Around 40 members of SFI and DYFI members were detained for demonstrating a protest at the State bank of India, Main branch office at Railway Station, last weekend.

The All India Students Federation of India joined the protest today at the SBI, Main Branch demanding a compensation of Rs.50 lakh to the family of Lenin, who committed suicide due to the undue pressure by Reliance for loan recovery. A group of 15 protesters was detained today by the police officials. This created a ruckus at the SBI office premises today morning.

Protest by Highway department staff



The Tamil Nadu Government and Highway department in 2002, entered into an agreement of privatisation of road maintenance work. This lead to expelling of 9813 employees of the highway department. The employees fought judicially and were re-appointed by the department. 

A protest was staged by them demanding salaries for 41 months to compensate their termination, salaries to be re-routed through the treasury and few other demands wee put forth by them during the protest.  The protestors were seen with drums and raised slogans infront of the Highways Department at Trichy Road.
