Drinking water leakage irk residents of EB Colony

Over two months, the unresolved drinking water leakage issue has irked the residents of EB colony, Karattumedu.

The underground water pipe was broken during the road maintenance works around two months ago. Since then the roads of EB colony is flushed with drinking water making the place very slushy and slippery.

The issue poses a serious threat to motorists as they tend to slip off from their vehicles. The residents have taken up the issue to the Ward Councillor (Ward No:33)

The Ward Councillor reported that the issue has been escalated to the PWD authorities. He revealed that EB Colony has been supplied with Athikadavu water and the water leakage spot is identified to be in the main pipeline.

The main pipeline has to be sealed off for at least three days to enable reconstruction of the damaged pipeline. This will adversely interrupt Athikadavu water supply completely to all areas around Coimbatore, hence the authorities are figuring out the ways to resolve the issue, he disclosed.
